This includes a 23 minute mix of battle music for the in-flight soundtrack in case you're tired of the John Williams soundtrack, or want to record gameplay footage with music to post on YouTube without the audio getting flagged and muted. In lieu of that, I replaced some of the low-quality MIDI recordings and silence with songs from the Rogue Squadron games. This isn't anywhere near "X-Wing Reconstructed" I don't have the knowledge or ability to re-orchestrate the original X-Wing music, or to modify the XWING95.EXE file to add missing music to transition scenes. We don't have anything like that for X-Wing, so I decided to replace its soundtrack with some custom music.

Oddb411: TIE Fighter has the reconstructed mod to restore its original soundtrack in high quality. I take no credit for the songs themselves that would go to Chris Huelsbeck in conjunction with Factor5 and LucasArts for the Rogue Squadron series.

Here is a preview of the in-flight soundtrack with track listing (no gameplay footage): ĭownload here and extract to your root install folder: Again, your install directory may differ slightly. The folders you need to back up are C:\GOG Games\STAR WARS - X-Wing (1998)\MUSIC, and C:\GOG Games\STAR WARS - X-Wing (1998)\XWINGCD\MUSIC. I would recommend backing up the original music tracks in case you end up not liking it. Just extract the contents to your root X-Wing 98 folder, which by default is C:\GOG Games\STAR WARS - X-Wing (1998). I've created a ZIP of the stuff I've mixed together if anyone is interested in using it.
